Cairns Night Market is the perfect way to spend your evening in Cairns as it's open 7 days a week from 5pm till 11pm. It's a totally unique and interesting shopping and dining market which is a favourite with both locals and those visiting Cairns. There's over 70 intriguing stalls offering everything from tattoos to pearls to crocodile skins. There's gorgeous glass blowing pieces, opals, homewares stores and you can even pick up a real Akubra Hat. Since Rusty's Markets began around 30 years ago it has grown to become one of the best known markets in Australia and overseas. There's over 180 stalls which sell a myriad of things including tropical fruits, local vegetables, exotic flowers, locally made produce like honey, dips and deli foods. Tanks Arts Centre Market Day operates the last Sunday of each month from April to November. There's a broad array of local produce stalls as well as vintage clothing, collectables, craft and natural health products on offer. It's a great way to spend a lazy Sunday wandering around the markets with live entertainment from local musicians and entertainers. Kids can also book in for an arts based workshop which is fun and free.
