Australian Gas .com. is an independent website dedicated to furthering research and investment into the Australian Gas sector.
Since its beginnings in the late 1970s, the Australian gas industry has become one of the world’s major producers and exporters of gas. Gas is estimated to represent 23 per cent of world energy supplies anticipated to grow to 29 per cent by 2020.
Australia is the third largest LNG producer in the Asia-Pacific region and the fifth largest LNG producer in the world, exporting 15.2 million tonnes in 2006-07 with a value of around $5.2 billion.
