Hekili Great Barrier Reef Ocean Challenge 2013
Get ready! Australia's biggest and newest downwind iron ocean race is on again. This year, more outrigger canoes and surf skis are expected to do battle in this exciting addition to the Australian adventure race calendar.
The challenge - should you choose to accept it - is a 40 kilometre awesome surf leg along the stunning North Queensland coastline, heading north with the wind, from Palm Cove to Port Douglas.
Test yourself against the elements and some of Australia's best outrigger and ski paddlers in a race where just finishing is an achievement.
Register now to be a part of the 3rd annual Great Barrier Reef Ocean Challenge... and remember: if it was easy, everyone would do it!
The race will begin at Palm Cove Cairns, from the beach, 3kms to Scout Hat and Double Islands, then turn North to make the most of the following sea to finish on Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas - 40kms in total. This is an Iron event in all classes.
