Cairns Night Market is the perfect way to spend your evening in Cairns as it's open 7 days a week from 5pm till 11pm. It's a totally unique and interesting shopping and dining market which is a favourite with both locals and those visiting Cairns. There's over 70 intriguing stalls offering everything from tattoos to pearls to crocodile skins. There's gorgeous glass blowing pieces, opals, homewares stores and you can even pick up a real Akubra Hat. While you're winding your way through these fascinating stalls you can pick up a bite to eat at the Noodle Bar, Crepe Stand, Asian Buffet, Fresh Seafood or just cool down with an ice cream.

Since Rusty's Markets began around 30 years ago it has grown to become one of the best known markets in Australia and overseas. There's over 180 stalls which sell a myriad of things including tropical fruits, local vegetables, exotic flowers, locally made produce like honey, dips and deli foods. There's also a range of stores selling arts and crafts and bric-a-brac. It's a colourful journey into the exciting melting pot that is Cairns.

The Esplanade Markets gives shoppers a wonderful showcase of locally produced jewellery, art, woodcraft, fashion, skin care, leather work, pottery and so much more. There's also interactive stalls that offer massages and airbrush tattoos. The markets are open in the fun and exciting Esplanade centre of Cairns and operate Monday through to Saturday.

Gordonvale Cottage Markets

The Markets are Convened by the Gordonvale Scout Group and held on the first Saturday of each month (February through to December)

Tanks Arts Centre Market Day operates the last Sunday of each month from April to November. There's a broad array of local produce stalls as well as vintage clothing, collectables, craft and natural health products on offer. It's a great way to spend a lazy Sunday wandering around the markets with live entertainment from local musicians and entertainers. Kids can also book in for an arts based workshop which is fun and free.

Take a short drive up the coast to the Port Douglas Sunday Markets which are hosted each Sunday in ANZAC park which overlooks the glorious Coral Sea. Take your time as you browse through a myriad of stalls only selling what the stallholder makes or grows. It's a Cotters Market so you know the quality of products and produce you buy will be impeccable. Try some delicious tropical fruits, buy a handmade akubra or pick up some locally made jewellery for a loved one. There's also plenty of food so you can take it to the beach for a picnic!
